First phone (VIVO X-Play) with 6GB RAM
The phone comes with a full metal body and has been launched in
Champagne Gold and Rose Gold colours.
After many leaks and rumors, Vivo has finally launched world's first phone with 6GB RAM in an
event in Beijing last night. The phone, named as Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, comes with 6GB RAM and
Snapdragon 820 chipset. There is another variant of the phone which is simply called Vivo
Xplay 5 which comes with 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 652 chipset. Except the processor and
RAM, there is no other difference between these two smartphones. Both the variants have
been launched in Champagne Gold and Rose Gold colours.
Both Vivo Xplay 5 Elite and Vivo Xplay 5 come with 5.43-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD
Super AMOLED dual curved edge display with Corning Gorilla glass protection. They have
128GB internal storage as well as a micro SD card slot for memory expansion. The phones
sport a fingerprint sensor on their back panels which the company claims to unlock the device
in just 0.4 seconds.
The devices run on Android 6.0
Marshmallow operating system and
gets the power from a 3600 mAh
battery. They are also equipped with
fast charging technology.The Vivo
Xplay smartphones come with 16
megapixel rear camera with LED
flash and an 8 megapixel front camera. For connectivity, the devices support dual SIM with
dual standby feature, 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS and a micro USB Type C. The
handset measures 153.5 x76.2 x7.59 mm and weighs around 167.8 grams.
The Vivo Xplay 5 and Xplay 5 Ultimate Edition are priced at 3698 Yuan (approximately
Rs 38,148 ) and 4288 Yuan (approximately Rs 44,255 )respectively. Both the smartphones will
be available for sale in China starting March 8th.
